Stuff fills the void of the existence we weren't meant to lead.。80年代初，边陲村寨发生一起命案。刑警队长赵枫觉得这件案子与6年前老区长被害有密切的联系。在侦破的同时，当年在老区长案中做伪证的陈欣被杀，证据指向老区长女儿方倩。经过周密调查。三起凶杀案的真凶原来是动乱中受到迫害、作风正派的区长张放。案破了，赵枫内心很痛苦，因为这一切不是人的本性使然，而是由于运动造成的悲剧。警车走了，张放无人照看的儿子走入荒原。。
