讲述从小生长在桃源城的村落的断案女子田三七，一直在等待自己的童年之约之人。18岁这年决心出去寻找童年的小哥哥，来到了桃源城南府发下了很像自己要找的人的赵错，二人在欢闹中破了城中的各种案件，抓住了坏人。而在相处过程中，三七也渐渐发现赵错不是自己的童年之约之人，但是两人已经彼此相爱上了对方。。影片受欧洲真实事件启发而创作，从一起连环杀人案调查展开，导演以独特视角将故事聚焦于病人、医生和警察之间的“三重奏”。在漫长的调查过程中，三人慢慢陷入了复杂的情感连带当中，对“真实”的领悟相互纠缠，最终踏上一段让人意想不到的旅程。。Davies' film is divided into three segments enitled "Children", "Madonna and Child", and "Death and Transfiguartion".
